Synopsis

This book covers the development of Libyan wild animals through geological eras, some concepts related to wildlife, their general division, and the identification of more than 200 names and scientific concepts related to wildlife, focusing on the natural reserves and national parks officially registered in Libya, in terms of their notion and objectives in Libyan legislations, presenting the most significant efforts made to nurture and protect wild animals, and the challenges and risks facing both plant and animal biodiversity. Subsequently, the book reviews Libyan carnivorous mammals in terms of division, classification, general characteristics, scientific nomenclature, the main recognized physical measurements, nutritional and reproductive behaviour, and spatial distribution of the species, with a coloured photograph of each species.

This book is considered a scientific addition in its field, as it focuses on collecting fundamental information about the Libyan wildlife environment that was scattered in several previous studies to form the basis for in-depth, quantitative, and qualitative field studies of biological and animal diversity specifically, formulated in a simplified scientific manner, to make it easier for science students and researchers to access.
