"The logical thinking of student teachers at the College of Education - White, Omar Al-Mukhtar University, according to the theory of cognitive development by Jean Piaget"
Abstract
The current research aims to identify the level of logical thinking among male and female students teachers according to the gender variable and the academic specialization (scientific departments: biology and mathematics / literary departments, classroom teacher and kindergarten). The research sample consisted of (50) male and female students; the total number of students enrolled in the four sections. The researcher used the logical reasoning test, which was prepared by Ismail Ibrahim Ali, Were checked its psychometrics of Face validity & power discriminatory(0.32- 0.88), the difficulty of the paragraph(0.31- 0.78), the relationship between the degree of the paragraph, the total degree, the degree of paragraph degree area, and the degree of the toll for the test, correlation coefficient(0.82). The following statistical methods were used: - arithmetic mean, percentage, T value, Z, U, R using the Mann-Whitney test. The research found the following results: first the level of logical thinking among teachers students is generally low. Secondlythe level of logical thinking among male students is higher than the female students by a statistically significant difference. Thirdly there is no difference in the level of logical thinking among students of scientific departments and students of literary departments.
