The workshop took place on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at the Municipal Council Hall in Shahat. It was attended by officials from the Shahat Municipality, directors of tourism offices, directors and inspectors from antiquities departments, as well as several specialists, experts in tourism and antiquities, and academic students.
Various reports and working papers were presented during the workshop, discussing the aftermath of Hurricane Daniel, the damages incurred, and the proper mitigation strategies. Scientifically studied solutions were also proposed.
At its conclusion, the workshop highlighted new archaeological discoveries that emerged after the hurricane, particularly in the archaeological sites of Al-Jabal Al-Akhdar region.
