Psychological hardness and its relationship to future anxiety among a sample of Omar Al-Mukhtar University students in the light of some variables

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate correlation between hardiness and future anxiety among sample of 150 students from the University of Omar El-Mukhtar, El-Gubba. Two measurement instruments were used: The hardiness scale developed by Emad Mu’khaimer (2002) and the future anxiety scale developed by Zainab Showgair (2005). Negatively significant correlation was observed between hardiness and future anxiety. On the other hand there was no significant differences between males and females students in both hardiness and future anxiety, as well as, there was no real differences between these two variables among students from both humanity and science university departments. Practical implications of the study and suggestion for future research were indicated.
