Feeling of happiness and its relationship to self-esteem among a sample of students from the Faculty of Education in Al-Bayda, Omar Al-Mukhtar University

The study aims to identify the relationship between the feeling of happiness and self-esteem among the students of the Faculty of Education at the University of Omar Al-Mukhtar in Al-Bieda. The study sample consisted of (135) students from the Faculty of Education at the University of Omar Al-Mukhta, 60 males, 75 females; 74 first Year Students and 61 fourth Year Students. The Oxford Happiness List by Argyle & Lu 1995, translated by Ahmed Abdel Khalek et al. (2003), and the self-assessment by Cooper Smith were used in this study. The study found the following results: First, there is a statistically significant correlation between happiness and self-esteem among students of the Faculty of Education. Second, there was a high level of happiness and self-esteem among the students of the Faculty of Education. Third, there were no statistically significant differences between males and females in feeling happy. Fourth, there were no statistically significant differences between the first and fourth year students in feeling happy. Fifth, there were no statistically significant differences between males and females in self-esteem. Sixth, there were no statistically significant differences between the first and fourth year students in self-assessment.
These results were discussed in light of the extent to which the study hypotheses and their objectives and the available research and theoretical heritage, as well as the results of these recommendations and studies worthy of research and study in the future.
