Omar Al-Mukhtar University participated in the in-person meeting of the Focus Groups for the ARMONIA project, hosted by the Libyan Academy for Graduate Studies, with the presence of 14 Libyan universities, the Mediterranean Universities Union (UNIMED), and several partner Libyan universities.
This direct meeting is part of the implementation program of the ARMONIA project, which aims to harmonize curricula by adopting the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). This project will enhance the quality of higher education by utilizing the educational systems employed within European universities. The ECTS is designed to facilitate student mobility between different countries.
Since this system measures students’ educational achievements in addition to their coursework, it allows students to smoothly transfer the credits they have earned from one university to another in all countries that operate under the system.
This project represents an active participation of higher education and scientific research institutions in partnership and capacity-building projects within the competitive projects of the European Commission for Education and Culture in the European Union.
