University president meets with the administration of Al-Mukhtar Center for Research and Consultations

This morning, Tuesday, November 12, 2024, Dr. Abdalmatlub A. Bofrowa the university president and chairman of the center’s board of directors, met in his office with the executive director of Al-Mukhtar Center for Research, Consultations, Scientific Services, and Training, in the presence of the university’s Vice President for Academic Affairs and several department heads from the center.

The university president welcomed the attendees and praised the work being done by Al-Mukhtar Center at the university. He then reviewed several important points and the attendees agreed on the following:

– Emphasis on establishing a nursery in a suitable location. This will be done in collaboration with relevant entities that serve the community, including municipalities, the agriculture sector, the environmental sector, the Shatla Environmental Organization, civil society organizations, and the Al-Mukhtar volunteer team.

–The president and members of the center’s board confirmed the broadcast and dissemination of the Professional Ethics Committee to the relevant faculties, under the leadership of the committee assigned by Al-Mukhtar Center.

– The importance of activating the role of the Environmental and Vital Safety Unit at the center was stressed, particularly as it contains laboratories for analysis to ensure the safety of citizens and the academic and community environment.

– Implementation of the university president’s decision regarding the Committee for the Evaluation and Proficiency of the Arabic Language for graduate students’ theses, through the committee appointed by Al-Mukhtar Center. The establishment of an English Language Unit to complete the program in both languages for graduate students’ theses was also discussed.

– After completing the training of research assistants at the Faculty of Science, it was emphasized to continue training research assistants in other relevant faculties, including (Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, and Pharmacy).

At the end of the meeting, the university president stressed the importance of following up on all the work at the center and implementing the outcomes of this meeting. He expressed his thanks to the executive director of the center and the attendees, wishing everyone success.
